This film tells the historic period of Italian occupation of France through the story of a love affair between Rima, a young Jewish woman, and Federico, an Italian officer.
Synopsis
From June 1940 to September 1943, the Italian army occupied several departments in the South of France, providing refuge for thousands of Jews. However, in September 1943, the armistice between Italy and the Allies was signed, prompting the arrival of German troops in the area. Italian soldiers fled into the mountains to cross the border into Italy, accompanied by many Jews. The story of this crossing is narrated through the intimate love affair between Rima Dridso Levin, a Russian Jewess, and Federico Strobino, a Catholic Italian officer.
